My Story
My first memory of fashion was at the age of five. I thought it was beautiful. I loved to dress up and play with colour, scarves, jewelry and twirl around in long flowing skirts. Even from a young age fashion made me feel good and brought energy to my world. It was fun!
As I reached my teens, I discovered fashion was not so much fun anymore. It had lost its lustre. Why? Fashion did not fit, or more accurately, I did not fit fashion. I had always been bigger than the other children. I was tall for my age and had a larger frame. This never bothered me until I wanted to dress like all the other girls. School and high school was confronting if you were different and did not fit the standard mould. All those years ago the fashion field was smaller and only for certain shapes and sizes.
FLASH FORWARD!
Decades have passed and the world is a different place. We now live in a fashion forward age. The rules that once were, are no longer; the restrictions have disappeared. Designers are now creating for everyone no matter your shape, size, age or gender.

How have I seen the fashion industry change?
Choice - The fashion industry has changed for the better. Stores that traditionally only stocked up to a size 14 are now stocking larger sizes. The people have spoken, and the designers and stores are listening. There truly is something for everyone in every price range.
Accessibility - There is no longer the need to travel to a shopping centre. With the internet at our fingertips, you can order something in the morning and have it in your hands that afternoon. You can buy from overseas. It is limitless!
The biggest challenge now is working out what you your personal brand is. What lights you up and makes you feel good in your skin?
It can be anything you want it to be, as clothes and accessories are designed to fit our individual lifestyles. They help us celebrate our masculinity, femininity, diversity, ethnicity, youthfulness and individuality.
